Project: Social Fusion (formerly "Social Entrepreneurship
Incubator")
Year of Inception: 2002
Connecting social entrepreneurs to turn innovative ideas into leading organizations.
In 2002, 3GF launched the Social Entrepreneurship Incubator (SEI), an incubator
for early stage non-profit organizations. SEI was housed as part of the
Women’s Technology Cluster, and
managed as an operating project of the Three Guineas Fund. In
April 2003, the WTC and SEI spun off from Three Guineas Fund into
independent organizations. The SEI changes its name in 2003 to
Social Fusion.
Recognizing that there were
few opportunities for non-profit start-ups to have regular access to
peers, training, onsite consultants and professional facilities, Social
Fusion addresses the specific needs of social entrepreneurs. Social
Fusion is designed to help social entrepreneurs develop their
early-stage non-profits into successful, sustainable organizations.
